Why do you think it is good news? Same Senators will be there in the Senate. Do you think they will accept skil? Not only skil any major immigration bill like AGRI, DREAM act will be stalled till next election.
ofcourse a very good news...but at the same time if VB for next month is disappointing , what will be next plan of action.. to have SkILL bill or any way to have interim bills passed?

VSC received the application based on the tracking info from UPS.
Whether they forwarded it to NSC or TSC- I don't know yet.

I have Master's degree from US and have been with the company for 6yrs. This is the response from my Attorney on porting to EB2 category. My I485 was filed during July 2007. What can i do to be able to file a new PERM LC for porting to EB2 category without affecting my I485 application? Please advise.

They tell this to everybody. A very common answer. They told me so, so to my 2 other friends but in either cases, no GC was approved inspite of our PDs were current. And later it turned out that my name check is pending (don't know what is 180 rule mean) when I took Infopass.
So don't believe those CS answering over the phone. They say name check is clear when it is not clear, they say I-485 processing date is 2006, April when processing date is 2007, April 28. Bunch of junkies or may be summer interns (all called I made around summer time).
To be CS in USCIS the only qualification you need is to be an US Citizen with back ground check cleared and a high school diploma :-(.
How a person can understand with the above qualification all those difficult stuff like PD, RD, AP, EAD, LC, 485, 140 !!!
And some CS even referring my I-485 application as I-40 :-( repeatedly.
They may have to answer so many other complicated cases in Family category as well. Like what happen when spouse gets divorced? Can one file dependent GC if he/she is gay? Some one got married one US citizen after crossing the broader illegally, can she/he get GC? Can a son/daughter from stepmother apply for GC? So don't blame them either.

looks like they will make us wait till 17th and accept/reject case from July 2nd...and most of the rejected cases might not be eligible to refile :mad:...this is my guess!

Unless of course you are an illegal maid from El Salvador, in which case you can apply for your green card in person at any USCIS window by 9 am, and pick up your green card by 4 pm the same day. You have the option of premium processing, where if you pay $5 extra, you get along with your green card a U.S. passport, voters regsitration card, perpetual drivers license and a pack of "Hershey's Kisses" (or an actual kiss from the USCIS officer, your choice)

I'm sorry i didn't understand you - If i apply EAD/AP in AUG/SEP why it wont be FREE ?
I'll file 485 july 1st but i'm not in a hurry for EAD or AP because my extended
H1B is still Jan 08 and i'm not travelling before Xmas 07 time ....

the free ead/ap is based on the $1010 fee for 485..so if u file ur 485 now.. u r pretty much in the non free group

From what you have mentioned, the answer to your question lies in the notice that USCIS has sent to your attorney....The letter should have exactly the steps needed and the time to respond....Your best bet is to request the attorney to send you a copy of the letter....
Personally, I think USCIS would request the empoyer to sign the check or re-issue a new one and send it within 30 days....it is not a big deal....

Whats the process to do stamping in canada ? My visa has expired since Jan' 2008 - is it same like India ? Do we still get stuck with PMIS or is it okay to go on I-94 and keep the same to re-entry if any issues ?

I filed my 485 last week and didn't file for EAD. My spouse is filing 485 next week and i will be a dependent in that application. If i apply for EAD in his application, can i use it to invoke AC21 if i have to change job after 6 months under my 485?
I have read here that EAD is not necessary for AC21, but my lawyer said its needed.
You cannot file 2 AOS petitions. Did your lawyer tell you that?
To apply for EAD thru your husband you would have to apply for I485 again , which you cannot.

My I-140 was approved 2 yrs back. I have more time on H1 like ..2 more yrs.
I'm planning to use my EAD or do H1 transfer. So far I have good relations with my employer.If I speak to my employer about my plans will he be able to hurt my case like thru I140 or any otherway?
After I switch jobs will I be able to go back to my old employer if I would want to .
Appreciate it if you can help me on this.

All you have to do is be ready with your new offer letter and maintain the labor wages in your new employment. In previous years desi companies used to reuse the labor by revoking the 140 once an employee quits. Now labor reuse also has been plugged by USCIS. You can peacefully go ahead and change your employment.
Any reason that you want to go back to your old employer? Why quit in the first place than...

Hi Sunny1000...Thanks for your reply and I have moved down a day and going to get in on Jun24th, that will get me 3 days...Just to be safe. I have read other threads with immig.voice and most of them are saying technically they can get in on last /Final Day of the Validity.

Untill you have somthing written it will be very diffecult to prove in court.
Don't waster your money in court cases its very expensives .
Talk to any good attorny and find one which can work on % bases if you still want to go to court .

Can anyone give me the combination of numbers to dial to speak to an IO for the texas centre?I know its been passed around before but i just cant seem to find it .Thanks a lot in advance..Also do you think its any use me calling rite now,my PD is EB2 India..aug 2003..Applied in june.Is it too soon to try ...just itching to call once:)Thanks again for any help.
